Feel Your Life

I apologize for being on the down-low these past few months? weeks. I have taken on a lot outside of my job, and there have been quite a few changes to adjust to. That said, I thought it was a perfect time to share what kinds of shenanigans I have been involved with.

1. I have taken on a new position in visual merchandising, which gives me the responsibility of designing and implementing store window displays. I am learning a lot so far, especially with balancing the sales and retail aspect with the creative. This photo is of the handcrafted daisies I made (using styrofoam balls and bristol) for the Mother’s Day/spring window.

2. I had the greatest pleasure and opportunity to take part in Danielle LaPorte’s The Fire Starter Sessions book launch (go here and scroll down to the Toronto Vimeo vid - you can see us at the 0:10 sec mark!!). I went with my a dear friend of mine, whom I connected with in Mexico via an artist retreat. Flash forward 2 years later, these then-complete stranger tent-mates have stayed in touch, and are now collaborating with the retreat ladies in a intercontinental “camp fire starter session”. I cannot wait to see our results!!

3. + 4. In a previous post I mentioned that I have been coordinating a garden project at the Artscape Wychwood Barns. Two weekends ago, we got a team of volunteers together to build the raised beds for the vegetable garden. It was such a blast and an amazing success. Last weekend, Community Environment Day at the Barns, we asked visitors to pick up a shovel and help with the garden project. This is the pile of monster dandelions weeds we pulled from 2 out of the 3 plots!! Check out the progress here.

1. A light and fresh quinoa salad devoured on a sunny day spent with my wonderful friend Sapna.

WEEKLY WANDERINGS

2. Taking in the beautiful sunset on my walk home from work.

3. I started painting again this week… Nothing too special, but it gets my hands moving and my the right side of my brain churning once again. I took inspiration from this post on “Embracing the Tiny.”

4. A photo of myself taking part in my good friend Christina’s newly established Letter Writing Club. We met with a handful of other women at The Good Neighbour Espresso Bar in The Junction on a lovely Saturday afternoon.
